Gen X isn't the most outspoken generation. Heck, we aren't even the most talked-about generation — not even close. In fact, we're often ignored, so much so that it's embedded in our identity. So, why bother writing down my thoughts about language and grammar or anything at all? Good question. I'm not sure I have a good answer, but take my wisdom for what it's worth. Or don't. I'm a Gen Xer. I don't really care either way.

I've always understood "true" art to be something that evokes feelings from the viewer. I see Madonna falling into this category.

Are there Karens who deserve to be shamed for their entitled demands to speak to the manager? Of course! But there's a much better way to call them out. There's already a word for someone who's a Karen. It's gender-neutral, satisfying to use and 100% accurate.

The truth is more complex than the social media mob would have it. People are not all good or all bad. We're a mixture, each of us a work in progress. We've all done good things. We've all made mistakes. The best we can hope for is that we're growing in the right direction, one of self-awareness and self-improvement and perspective.

...over time, I came to understand that, in a world where meaning is arbitrary, I had the opportunity to choose what I value. And if I had to sum it up in a word, I would say the answer for me is love.
