I've always understood "true" art to be something that evokes feelings from the viewer. I see Madonna falling into this category.

Are there Karens who deserve to be shamed for their entitled demands to speak to the manager? Of course! But there's a much better way to call them out. There's already a word for someone who's a Karen. It's gender-neutral, satisfying to use and 100% accurate.

Being a caregiver requires mastering a whole host of valuable skills. That's why I think these types of experiences should not be discounted in the job market. Just because you're getting paid in hugs and kisses doesn't mean your skill set is lacking. On the contrary, the skills you build as a caregiver and home manager translate seamlessly to the workplace.

I didn't anticipate the added benefits of volunteering that I've carried with me into my personal and professional lives. These skills have made me a better coworker and a stronger asset to my workplace.

She shaved her head. Buzzed her long, glorious hair right off. It was well past her shoulders, and now it stands one inch off her scalp. I used to think parenting was easy. I didn't understand what everyone was so stressed out about! I mean, sure, the not-sleeping thing was not my favorite phase of babyhood. And potty training was possibly the lowest point in my life's journey. But, in general, it seemed pretty straightforward. And then my son was born.

Part of my job was to photograph children as they moved through their school day as a way of sharing their journey with families. It was one of the best parts of my job, but it took me some time to master the most effective techniques in capturing images that tell a story.

...over time, I came to understand that, in a world where meaning is arbitrary, I had the opportunity to choose what I value. And if I had to sum it up in a word, I would say the answer for me is love.
